Dental Implants

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth with a titanium post that fuses with the jawbone, topped by a custom crown. At Seoul Lab Dental, implants are planned with a 3D scan so placement is precise — and the result looks and works like a natural tooth.

Is this for you?

Who dental implants are for

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, not just the visible part. It's usually the option to consider when the teeth either side of the gap are healthy and you'd rather not have them filed down to carry a bridge.

Whether an implant is right for you depends on your jawbone, your gum health, and your general health — which is what the scan and examination are for.

Options

The scope of treatment

Single implant

One post and one crown, replacing one tooth without touching the teeth on either side.

Multiple implants

Several missing teeth replaced with implants, sometimes with a bridge carried on two implants rather than one per tooth.

Full-arch implants

A fixed full set carried on a small number of implants, for an arch where the teeth can't be saved.

Bone graft and sinus lift

Where the jawbone is too thin or too low, bone is rebuilt first — or, in the upper back jaw, the sinus floor is raised. Whether you need this is decided from the CT, not assumed.

Treatment process

How implant treatment works here

  1. 01

    3D CT and digital scan

We image your jaw in three dimensions to see bone height and width, and the position of the nerve and sinus, before anything is planned.

  2. 02

    Planning and written estimate

We show you the scan, explain what's possible — including options other than an implant — and give you the plan and cost in writing, in English.

  3. 03

    Implant placement

The implant is placed under local anaesthetic, with grafting done at the same time if your case calls for it.

  4. 04

    Healing

The bone bonds to the implant surface. This is the part that takes time, and it's what makes the result last.

  5. 05

    Crown fitting

A crown is made to match your other teeth, tried in, and adjusted so your bite closes evenly.

  6. 06

    Follow-up

We check the implant, the bite, and the gum around it, and show you how to clean it so it stays healthy.

FAQ

Common questions about implants

How long does a dental implant take from start to finish?

Months rather than weeks, because the bone needs time to bond to the implant before the crown goes on. If a bone graft is needed first, it takes longer. We give you a realistic schedule after your 3D CT and examination — not before.

Will I need a bone graft?

Only your CT can answer that. Depending on what it shows, a shorter or narrower implant or a different angle can sometimes avoid grafting entirely. We show you the scan and explain why a graft is or isn't needed in your case.

Does the estimate include the crown?

Our written estimate itemises what's included — the implant, the abutment, the crown, and any graft or extra step your case needs. That's the point of giving it in writing: so you can compare it properly and there's no surprise later.

Does Korean national insurance cover implants?

Only in limited cases — mainly patients aged 65 and over, up to two implants, with the patient paying a share of the cost. For most adults implants are private pay. Terms are set by NHIS, so we'll confirm what applies to you.

Is it all explained in English?

Yes. Your diagnosis, the options, the schedule and the cost are explained in English, and you get the estimate in writing before treatment starts.

I would recommend this dental clinic for foreigners living in the Uijeongbu city area. The English dentist is available three days a week. The treatment is communicated well and very comfortable. Dental costs are also communicated clearly especially for those who don't have additional dental insurance.

Several of the doctors speak English. I have visited the clinic twice, and on both occasions, they did not recommend any unnecessary treatments. They also clearly explained the cost before proceeding with any treatment, without me having to ask. The reception staff are also very easy to communicate with via KakaoTalk.

I visited because I had doubts about a diagnosis from another hospital claiming that root canal treatment was absolutely necessary, and I would have regretted not coming here. I was truly grateful for the honest explanation that the examination results showed the condition wasn't that serious. They explained everything thoroughly and step-by-step, and above all, I feel confident because there was absolutely no overtreatment. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest dental clinic!
