Who cosmetic treatment is for

Cosmetic work changes how your teeth look, but it's still dentistry — the bite has to work and the teeth underneath have to be healthy. The most useful conversation is usually about what's realistic for your teeth, and which of the options changes the least to get there.

Decay and gum disease are treated before cosmetic work, and if your concern is mainly about alignment, orthodontics often gives a better result with less removal of healthy tooth.

Options

Your options, least invasive first

Whitening

Changes the colour of your own teeth without removing any tooth structure. Existing crowns and fillings don't change colour, so they may need replacing afterwards to match.

Bonding and edge reshaping

Small chips and uneven edges corrected with composite, usually in a single visit.

Veneers

Thin facings bonded to the front of the teeth. Less tooth is removed than for a crown, but it isn't nothing — and it can't be undone.

Ceramic crowns

For teeth that are heavily filled, cracked, or already crowned, where a veneer wouldn't hold.

Treatment process

How cosmetic treatment works here

  1. 01

    What you want to change

We start with what actually bothers you about your smile, because that decides which treatment is worth doing.

  2. 02

    Examination and digital scan

We check the health of the teeth and gums first, and scan so the design is based on your real bite.

  3. 03

    Options and written estimate

We set out what each option would achieve, what it costs, and what it removes from your teeth permanently — in writing, in English.

  4. 04

    Treatment

Whitening and bonding are quick. Veneers and crowns are made to fit, tried in, and adjusted for shade and bite before they're fixed.

  5. 05

    Aftercare

Whitening fades and needs topping up; veneers and crowns need the gum line kept clean. We tell you what upkeep your choice involves before you choose it.

FAQ

Common questions about cosmetic

Will whitening work on my teeth?

It depends on why they're discoloured. Surface and age-related staining usually responds well; a tooth darkened from the inside after root canal treatment is a different problem with a different solution. We'll tell you which yours is before you pay for anything.

Do veneers damage your teeth?

Veneers need a thin layer of the tooth's front surface removed, which can't be reversed. It's less than a crown requires, but it is permanent — so it's worth checking first whether whitening, bonding, or orthodontics would get you what you want.

Will my crowns and fillings match after whitening?

Not necessarily. Whitening changes natural tooth, not ceramic or composite, so existing restorations at the front may end up looking darker and need replacing to match. We'll point out which ones before you start.

Is cosmetic treatment covered by insurance in Korea?

Purely cosmetic work is private pay. Crowns placed to restore a damaged tooth are often partly covered by NHIS, which is a different situation. We'll tell you which category your treatment falls into.

Can you tell me what's realistic before I commit?

Yes, and that's the part of the consultation that matters most. We'll say what each option can and can't achieve for your teeth, in English, and give you the cost in writing before anything starts.

I would recommend this dental clinic for foreigners living in the Uijeongbu city area. The English dentist is available three days a week. The treatment is communicated well and very comfortable. Dental costs are also communicated clearly especially for those who don't have additional dental insurance.

Several of the doctors speak English. I have visited the clinic twice, and on both occasions, they did not recommend any unnecessary treatments. They also clearly explained the cost before proceeding with any treatment, without me having to ask. The reception staff are also very easy to communicate with via KakaoTalk.

I visited because I had doubts about a diagnosis from another hospital claiming that root canal treatment was absolutely necessary, and I would have regretted not coming here. I was truly grateful for the honest explanation that the examination results showed the condition wasn't that serious. They explained everything thoroughly and step-by-step, and above all, I feel confident because there was absolutely no overtreatment. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest dental clinic!
