Yangju sits directly between Dongducheon and Uijeongbu on Subway Line 1, so for most residents the trip is a short, direct ride. If you live in Okjeong or Hoecheon, the route works a little differently — here's both.
Yangju borders Uijeongbu and shares its subway line, which makes an English-speaking dentist here one of the easiest trips of any city we serve. For most residents it's a direct ride with no transfers at all.
Getting here from Yangju
Subway Line 1 southbound — no transfers.
| From | Line | To | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yangju / Deokgye / Deokjeong | Line 1 (southbound) | Uijeongbu Station | ~15–25 min |
From Uijeongbu Station the clinic is about a 10-minute walk. Nokyang and Ganeung, the two stations just before Uijeongbu, are already inside Uijeongbu city — so once you pass Yangju Station you're almost there.
Why it's easy: Yangju and Uijeongbu are neighbours on the same line, so this is closer to a local errand than a trip.
If you live in Okjeong or Hoecheon
This is the part that catches people out. Yangju's newer residential districts — Okjeong and Hoecheon — grew up away from the Line 1 corridor, so "Yangju is on Line 1" doesn't help you much if that's where you live.
For now the practical options are:
- Bus to a Line 1 station — Deokjeong or Deokgye are usually the nearest, then ride south to Uijeongbu.
- Bus directly toward Uijeongbu, which many routes do, since Uijeongbu is the area's transit and shopping hub.
- Driving, which from Okjeong is often the simplest option of the three.
A subway extension that will serve Okjeong is under construction, but it isn't expected to open for several years yet — so plan around buses and the car for the time being.
Checking the trip before you set out
Naver Map and Kakao Map both work in English and will compare bus-plus-subway against a direct bus for your exact address. From the Okjeong and Hoecheon side that comparison is worth doing, because the answer changes with the time of day.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take from Yangju?
From Yangju, Deokgye or Deokjeong stations it's roughly 15 to 25 minutes on Line 1 southbound with no transfers, plus about a 10-minute walk from Uijeongbu Station.
I live in Okjeong — is it still easy to get to you?
Okjeong isn't on Line 1, so it's either a bus to Deokjeong or Deokgye and then the train, a direct bus toward Uijeongbu, or driving — which from Okjeong is often the simplest. A subway extension serving Okjeong is under construction but isn't expected to open for several years.
Do I need to transfer?
Not from Yangju's Line 1 stations — it's one line, one direction, straight to Uijeongbu. Only the Okjeong and Hoecheon side needs a bus leg first.
Is it worth coming for just a cleaning?
Yes — Yangju and Uijeongbu are neighbours on the same line, so a routine visit is an easy trip rather than an outing. Regular checkups are also what keeps the expensive treatment from becoming necessary.
What should I bring to a first visit?
Your ARC, your NHIS card or number if you're enrolled, a list of any medication you take, and any X-rays from a previous dentist.
